Europa Announced

A passion project that began development five years ago, Helder Pinto and Future Friends Games’ Europa is set to launch in 2023.

Set on the lush terraformed paradise of Europa, this title has players running, gliding and flying across the landscape, solving mysteries in the ruins of a fallen utopia. Seeking answers, the android Zee and his Zephyr jetpack will set off on a journey with free-flowing movement.

Working evenings and weekends after his day job at Blizzard Entertainment, Helder Pinto brought together some friends to work on this title. Alex helped with programming, Brian helped with the cinematics, Craig helped with the animations and the gang at Future Friends Games (publisher Exo One and Omno) helped with publishing and the story.

The team is looking to make Europa “feature complete” in the coming months. From there, the team will focus on polishing, refining, and bringing the world to life with critters, flora, and other little touches.

All those interested can wishlist the game on Steam here. Regular updates will also be posted to the Steam page.

Casey Scheld

Casey Scheld has more than 15 years of experience in the gaming industry as a community manager, social media director, event specialist, and (of course) gaming editor. He has previously worked with gaming start-ups like Raptr, publishers like Konami, and roller derby girls at PAX West (check out Jam City Rollergirls)! Gamers Heroes is a passion project for him, giving him a chance to tap into the underground side of gaming. He is all too eager to give these lesser-known heroes of the indie space the attention they so rightly deserve, seeking out the next gem and sharing it with the world. Previously making appearances at events like CES, GDC, and (the late) E3, he is all too happy to seek out the next big thing.
