SEGA’s Shenmue trilogy has remained unfinished for more than 10 years now, but don’t think for a second that its legion of fans have forgotten. While creator Yu Suzuki has hinted at a Shenmue 3, there is nothing solid on the table just yet. However, one of the series most diehard of fans has decided to take action by creating an HD remake of the game that started it all.
Creator NoconKid originally started the project as a way to recreate the “Game You” game center in the game. However, the project quickly expanded in scope to include the entire world map. In addition to the higher resolution makeovers he made to the parks, tobacco shops, and even gachapon machines, he has also given the arcade machines in the game center a complete overhaul with more recent titles and videos for each arcade cabinet.
Though NoconKid admitted that the project will take a long time, he stated that he is willing to take it on.
