The first fully fledged Action RPG in Square Enix’s mainline Final Fantasy series, the latest trailer for Final Fantasy XVI focuses on its Eikon battles.
The world of Final Fantasy XVI has humans that serve as Dominants, which act as hosts for each nation’s Eikon. The story focuses on the protagonist Clive Rosfield’s quest for revenge in pursuit of the dark Eikon Ifrit.
In battle, Clive will end up in battles with summoned monsters called Eikons. These battles have dedicated mechanics. Clive will gain access to powers and fighting techniques themed around them after their defeat.

The game will come out for the PlayStation 5 on June 22.
