Final Fantasy XVI State of Play Released

For those that missed it earlier today, today’s State of Play put the spotlight on more than 25 minutes of Square Enix’s Final Fantasy XVI. Watch the whole thing in 4K and catch up on the highlights with our post.

A storied franchise with 35 years of history, Final Fantasy XVI features a mixture of real-time and RPG features. Players will follow the story of the protagonist Clive Rosfield, who serves as the Shield of the Grand Duchy of Rosaria.

Valisthea is at the players’ disposal, allowing one to access different areas of its world. Meanwhile, combat gives Clive unique Abilities that each have unique characteristics that depend on the Eikon they are derived from. One can also utilize “timely accessories” that provide support for those looking for it.

One can also hone said abilities with the Hunt Board to gain information on elite marks, fearsome foes just waiting to be taken down.
