The latest chapter of miHoYo’s free-to-play open-world action RPG Genshin Impact, A New Star Approaches, will make its debut on November 11, 2020.
This update will bring with it a number of new quests, which includes the finale of the Liyue chapter of the main storyline.
The new per-city “Reputation” system will make its debut with this update, which allows Travelers to build their reputation, unlock rewards, and discover new, region-exclusive items and customizations. Tools like a portable waypoint, portable stove, treasure compass, and oculus resonance stones will be included to aid players across their journey through Teyvat.
Four new playable characters will also make their debut, including the 5-star characters Childe and Zhongli. A Hydro archer, Childe can switch between ranged and melee combat modes during each battle. Meanwhile, Zhongli is a Geo polearm user with strong defensive capabilities and the ability to dish out large amounts of AoE damage. Zhongli also has the ability to petrify his enemies. The 4-star characters Xinyan and Diona will also offer opportunities for players to further diversify their party.
Version 1.1 will also pay host to the first seasonal event for Genshin Impact, Unreconciled Stars. This two week event tasks players with fighting back against a catastrophe that is plaguing Teyvat. New quests, co-op challenges, and rewards (including the 4-star character Fischl) will also be included.
