Ghost Recon Phantoms Invades Steam
Earlier today Ubisoft announced the immediate release of the highly anticipated Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Phantoms on Steam and Windows PC. Formerly known as Ghost Recon Online, Ghost Recon Phantoms is the culmination of months of hard work from the developers as they added a mass of improvements in areas highlighted by the community during closed and open beta. Ghost Recon Online itself was an enjoyable experience in itself but both the players and the developers didn’t feel it was worthy of the Tom Clancy name.
The newly branded Ghost Recon Phantoms changed all that. The developers listened hard to feedback during beta and responded with a massive amount of changes, fixes and updates. The release of Ghost Recon Phantoms sees the debut of an entirely new background story, a refined user interface and new visual designs for all 3 classes and all available weaponry. 3 of the most popular maps have also seen huge changes with a complete redesign of lighting and layout.
The release also sees the introduction of the eagerly awaited ModMaster feature. This new system will allow players to completely customize their characters and weapons, giving them the tools to ensure they stand out on the battlefield.
Two other important changes include matchmaking and the new player experience. New players will now have the opportunity to sample more weapons quicker than previously possible, exposing them to the depth on offer hours before it became available in Ghost Recon Online. The matchmaking system, one of the biggest gripes with the GRO community, has also seen some much needed TLC as Ubisoft now guarantee and fair and balanced experience for players of all skill levels.

The additional exposure we are getting through Steam will further increase our already 5-million-strong user base,”
To provide an experience worthy of the Tom Clancy label Ubisoft have also announced that they will open servers in Asia, South America and Australia, in addition to those already available in EU and NA.
“The launch trailer is an accurate portrayal of the new DNA of the game. Sleeker, more refined and looking better than ever, it showcases the new character design in a map that our veterans know very well, the Xinyi District. The intense action sequence is just a peek into the intense combat of the game and reinforces the Ghost Recon Phantoms belief that by fighting as a team, you prevail,”

“We will also be present in other gaming events in Europe, where we will organize exhibition matches between MOBA and FPS pro teams, to demonstrate our unique team-based gameplay,”
For more information you can check the official website.
