Karl Urban Returning to ARK: Lost Colony as Fan-Favorite Bob

Studio Wildcard has announced that Karl Urban (The Boys, Dredd) will expand his creative partnership with the ARK franchise, returning as fan-favorite character “Bob” in ARK: Lost Colony.

Revealed during yesterday’s Snail Games Investor Day, Bob has made a name for himself with his self-aggrandizing claims and sheer charisma.

Karl Urban is also set to lend his likeness for the upcoming 2026 slate of new Bob-focused content (naturally!) for ARK: Survival Ascended (ASA)

Karl Urban said the following:

“I’ve had a blast working with the ARK creative team, and I’m excited to step deeper into Bob’s world.

The new look, the expanded story, the tone – they’re all coming together in a really fun way. Bob is an extravagantly boastful personality who is a riot to bring to life and I can’t wait for players to see what’s next.”

Development Director Jeremy Stieglitz also said the following:

“ARK fans love Bob. They were…let’s just say passionate when he was killed in the opening of the animated series, but luckily death can be impermanent in the world of ARK.

Bringing Karl’s likeness into the game closes the gap between the voice fans know and the 3D character they’ll now see on-screen.

Karl already has the strong, ‘all-American’ look of Bob, so it just made sense. With so much content coming, this is the right moment to fully portray the character within ARK: Survival Ascended.”

Set to release tomorrow (December 18), ARK: Lost Colony will drop Survivors into a vast occupied city where they become the hunted. Along the way, players will be able to unlock powerful new kinds of character abilities, unique gear, building systems, and exotic tames.

With ARK: Survival Ascended surpassing over four million units sold, one can learn more about all things ARK via its official website.
