Major Subnautica 2 Early Access Update Released

The underwater world of Unknown Worlds’ Subnautica 2 is getting that much bigger with its new update that adds two new biolabs and an increase in the number of unlockable Biomods.

This first update for Subnautica 2 places a focus on refining core systems, improving co-op quality of life, and giving each of its players additional ways to explore, survive, and customize progression.

On that note, this major Subnautica 2 update places a focus on its Biomod system, which allows players to temporarily borrow traits from nearby creatures to thereby enhance their abilities.

Players can also take advantage of two new Biolabs in the Coral Gardens and Axum Ruins, thereby increasing the number of unlockable Biomods from four to six.

Additional passive Biomod slots can also be obtained by scanning targets with the Bioscanner.

Fernando Melo, Executive Producer at Unknown Worlds, said the following:

“With this update, we focused on refining the early-game experience and core systems.

We’ll continue shaping the world of Subnautica 2 together with our players throughout Early Access.”
