Metroid Dread Overview Trailer Released

Ahead of its release next month, Nintendo has released a new trailer for their upcoming title Metroid Dread.

Designed for both newcomers and veterans, this trailer provides an overview of what this title and the series has to offer. Metroid Dread will transport players to the planet of ZDR, which contains massive labyrinths in caves, magma chambers, ancient forests, and underwater depths.

To survive, bounty hunter Samus Aran has her powerful Arm Cannon, Missiles, her jumping prowess, a new slide move and a brutal Melee Counter that has the ability to deflect enemy attacks.

She can also gain new abilities and she progresses through the title, like the Spider Magnet that lets her cling to walls and ceilings. Other new abilities include the Flash Shift (which moves Samus forward and backward a short distance) and Storm Missile (which locks onto multiple targets).

With each ability that Samus uncovers, her exploratory options expand. Eventually, the whole planet ZDR will open up and be hers to explore at will.

She needs to be on her toes, however; dangerous research robots called E.M.M.I. are looking to capture Samus.
