New Video Showcases 22 Minutes Of Ancient Forest Gameplay In Monster Hunter: World

Following the unexpected but hugely exciting announcement of Monster Hunter: World at this years E3 event, developers Capcom today followed up with a massive new trailer showcasing over 22 minutes of footage from the upcoming release. The video goes over many elements that are brand new to the established franchise including stealth and distraction techniques, mounting enemies with special attacks and utilizing the environment to increase chances of success.

The video delves into the Ancient Forest as players go on a journey through one of the games earlier missions. The target, Anjanath, is a brand new addition to the already impressive roster of monsters in the Monster Hunter franchise.

In the video you can see some of the creatures you can expect to come across within the New World, the newly discovered continent where Monster Hunter: World is set, including the Great Jagras which has the ability to swallow its prey whole and one of the Monster Hunter series favorites, Rathalos.

Players are able to utilize survival tools such as the slinger and Scoutfly to aid them in their hunt. By using these skills to their advantage hunters can lure monsters into traps and even pit them against each other in an epic fierce battle. Can our hunter successfully survive the fight and slay the Anjanath? He’ll need to select his weapon choice carefully from 14 different weapon classes and think strategically about how to take the giant foe down. Don’t forget to pack the camouflaging ghillie suit![/testimonials]

Monster Hunter: World is scheduled to release early 2018 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with a PC release expected to arrive later down the line.
