Retro-Inspired Sidescroller Souldiers Coming Spring 2022

Combining MetroidVania exploration, Soulslike combat, and precision platforming, Retro Forge Games and Dear Villagers are teaming up to release Souldiers in Spring 2022.

Taking on the role of a scout, caster, or archer, players will set out to battle for freedom in the mystical land of Terragaya. Along the way, players will outwit enemies, solve puzzles, upgrade your character, and explore tsi 16-bit world.

According to Alberto Hernández, creative director at Retro Forge:

“Retro Forge was born out of a love for all things classic and nostalgic. Souldiers is like our personal tribute to the games we all grew up with. I can’t wait for more people to see it!”

Guillaume Jamet, head of publishing at Dear Villagers, added:

“Souldiers is shaping up to be a super special part of our catalogue. It’s beautiful and engrossing. I feel very fortunate to be working with such talented folks.”

The title is slated to come out for the Nintendo Switch and PC.
