This horror title puts players in the shoes of the space pilot Selene, who finds herself stranded on an alien planet and stuck in a time loop. She finds herself resurrected after every death, falling into a pattern of traversing foreign environments and combating extraterrestrial threats in a procedurally generated world. As players go through each loop, they will be able to piece together fragments of Selene’s memories as she seeks out the truth.

Returnal will make use of the PlayStation 5’s DualSense controller to incorporate haptic feedback, and will utilize the Tempest Engine for 3D spatial audio. The console will also allow for reduced loading times and a greater amount of visual effects and enemies on the screen at any given time.
The game will come out for the PlayStation 5 on April 30, 2021.
