Robyn Miller Composing New Music for Riven After 27 Years

Robyn Miller, the co-founder of Cyan Worlds and the original composer of Myst and Riven: The Sequel to Myst, will create new music for the Riven remake.

This release serves as a return to the franchise for Robyn Miller after 27 years, one that he co-created and also composed a memorable and fan-beloved soundtrack.

For those looking for a taste of things to come, listen in to the brand-new track below. It is Part IV of a larger piece of music that contains four movements:

Robyn Miller said the following:

“Writing the music for Riven was a blast. I hope that fans like the additions. I attempted to evoke the sounds of the original soundtrack but I was writing for an environment that is unique and stands apart from the original Riven. This piece had to live up to that and, in a way, speak a different musical language.”

Rand Miller, Robyn Miller, and Richard Vander Wende also recently did a special roundtable conversation, where they discussed their approach to world building from Myst to the original Riven, along with the upcoming remake.
