Shin Megami Tensei V World in Ruins Trailer Released

Ahead of its release next month, Atlus West has released a new trailer for Shin Megami Tensei V dubbed “World in Ruins.”

After finding a detour after a murder blocks his path, the protagonist of this game finds soon finds himself buried and unconscious. He then awakens in a new version of Tokyo, one ravaged by an apocalypse known as Da’at. In order to overcome the perils that await, he becomes a Nahobino that is neither human nor demon.

In this new form, players will be able to pinpoint enemy weaknesses and perform consecutive actions with the Press Turn Battle System. In addition, players can recruit foes using negotiations, and can then fuse them to fit your custom playstyle from there.

Some of the main themes of Shin Megami Tensei V revolve around modern issues, such as unemployment, retirement, terrorism, and nuclear weapons. Kazuyuki Yamai, who worked on Shin Megami Tensei IV, is once again heading up development.

The game will come out for the Nintendo Switch on November 12, 2021.
