The video, which can be seen below, pays host to developers from Dotemu and Guard Crush Games as they share their passion for entries in the beat-em-up genre. They detail how inspirations for the team included titles like Street Fighter III: Third Strike, Virtua Fighter, and Guardian Heroes, and that the SEGA Genesis title Streets of Rage 2 serves as the benchmark.

Streets of Rage 4 – Behind The Gameplay

The first core entry in more than 25 years, Streets of Rage 4 will pay host to new playable fighters, a wealth of combat options, and a hand-drawn art style. Yoko Shimomura, Hideki Naganuma, and Keiji Yamagishi have all lent their talents for this release.

The game will come out for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
