Target Races Now Available in Red Dead Online Beta

Red Dead Online Beta Target Races - Gamers Heroes
Rockstar Games announced today that the Target Races mode has made its way to the Red Dead Online Beta.

In this mode, players will be tasked with shooting targets on horseback as they attempt to pass through checkpoints, all while racing against the competition and being the first to finish.

Players start things out with a bow and arrow, and each hit target will help increase your Horse’s Stamina. Strategic pickups can also be found along each of the courses, with Stamina pickups extending your Horse’s sprinting time and aiding in the recovery of a drained Horse Stamina core. Alternatively, players can ride in their competitor’s slipstream to quickly regenerate Horse Stamina and net themselves a slight speed boost. The especially dastardly among us can also kick a competitor’s horse to reduce their Horse Stamina levels, and may even be able to get the slight chance to knock them down.

Weapon pickups can also be found that provide limited ammo supplies. These will give players the chance to use shotguns to efficiently take down either checkpoint targets or the competition with the free aim functionality.

Players will be able to Launch Target Races from the Landing Page menu, and can use the Quick Join option or ride to a Featured Series sign post.

Those on the PlayStation 4 can also get early access to Open Target Races, which puts players in an open space and tasks them to take out targets before racing to the finish.

Those that jump into the game this week can get themselves a 20% boost on all XP earning activities. Players can also get themselves 25% off from everything in the Horse Care Section at the Stables and in the Wheeler, Rawson & Co Catalogue. This includes revivers, medicines, stimulants and the trusty brush. Those that are Higher ranked can also upgrade their saddles, with a substantial 25% off Improved Saddles.
