The Official History of Chex Quest Detailed in New Video


Discover the history behind the 1996 first-person shooter Chex Quest with a new behind-the-scenes video for the game.

The video, which can be seen below, features Creative Director Dean Hyers as he talks about this one-of-a-kind shooter. He mentions how it was a total gamble, different ideas they brainstormed to figure out what kids want, the team and budget, the approval process, and other facets of game design. Sound Designer and Composer Andrew Benson also weighs in on what went into Chex Quest’s sound design.
