Ubisoft Announces ‘The Crew’ to Launch Sometime in Autumn 2014
Ubisoft’s new game The Crew was just given a launch window of Autumn 2014 on the Xbox One, PS4 and PC, alongside the worldwide premier of a new gameplay trailer.
The Crew is a new arcade style driving game fused with social aspects. Players control their very own customized car as they drive through the massive open world landscape of the United States. Not only is the map in The Crew a replica of the US, it’s also populated with other players and many challenges. The new gameplay trailer shows four players from different regions of the US coming together and playing as – you guessed it – a crew.
One thing that The Crew strives to do is create a very personal experience and then take that personal experience and allow you to share it with other players. In one of the past trailers, Ubisoft teases the ability to customize your car, allowing you do go almost as granular as you want. This allows players to feel like it’s their car. It should make seeing all of the different cars online a game in itself.
Starting April 8th, Ubisoft is doing something unique. They’re calling it the “Golden Plate treasure hunt”. In screenshots, videos and other media of The Crew up until launch, there will be golden license plates with a code on them. When fans see the code, they can then go to the designated website (http://thecrewgame.com/golden-plate) and enter the code. This treasure hunt will allow players to unlock new items, in-game content, and other exclusives that have yet to be revealed.
Players who pre-order the game will receive a limited edition “Mini Cooper S Pack” that gives them exclusive access to the mini cooper and access to additional parts to help customize their ride.
