Ubisoft Announces Far Cry 4, Coming Nov. 18
During an investor meeting earlier today, Ubisoft announced Far Cry 4 is in development. With the success of Far Cry 3, the zany Far Cry: Blood Dragon, and the tendency of big publishers to churn out sequels, this shouldn’t be a surprise. But that doesn’t mean it isn’t exciting.
Far Cry 4 is set in a fictional region called Kyrat, set in the real location of the Himalayas, and is under the rule of a tyrannical king. Above is the only image Ubisoft gave to hint about the story and setting but Ubisoft will be unveiling more of Far Cry 4 during their E3 press conference.
Just like Far Cry 3, the game will be open world and will feature vehicles, animals, and powerful mechanical tubes that launch bullets with lethal force. Ubisoft also opened pre-orders today and for anyone who does pre-order, they will receive extra single-player missions based around Hurk from Far Cry 3’s DLC Hurk’s Redemption. The pre-order also comes with Hurk’s harpoon weapon “The Impaler.”
Far Cry 4 will be available November 18 in North America and November 21 for the PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.
