Uncharted 4 Gets Another Minor Delay
Uncharted 4 has seen it’s far share of push backs over the last 12 months. Originally slated to release in 2015, the game was pushed into March of this year and the pushed again to April. Check out this article to find out why Uncharted 4 got pushed into May.
Uncharted 4 Pushed Into May
The reason Sony is giving it to give Naughty Dog enough time to meet the worldwide demand of Uncharted fans. This is the official reason they are going with but there are a few hidden reasons as to why they did it.April isn’t booming with games but it is booming with a single game, Dark Souls 3. I know that Uncharted and Dark Souls are completely different games but like it or not they are competing. If you get to buy one game a month then you can’t pick up both the games. This will make both the games suffer but Uncharted would receive the brunt end of the stick here. If Dark Souls was coming out in March like it is in Japan it wouldn’t be an issue.
Another big reason is Ratchet and Clank. Sony doesn’t want to take away from sales of either franchise just because they are launching so close to each other. Uncharted is much more known by newer gamers and they would naturally gravitate towards that instead of Ratchet and Clank. If Sony wants to bring Ratchet and Clank back from the dead then they need to make sure it releases with as little competition as possible.
Still two weeks isn’t really that bad by comparison to some other push backs. There is an open beta this weekend for the multiplayer to help tide of eager fans of the series. Uncharted 4 releases on May 10th exclusively on the PlayStation 4.
