Blizzcon is rolling on through and were getting more and more news from it. First we got the update to Diablo 3 about the Demon Hunter and now we get some Starcraft 2 news. For a lot of us in the RTS world Starcraft 2 was the game of the year for us. When first announced Blizzard said it would be a trilogy. The second installment of the trilogy will be called Heart of the Swarm and will, most likely as the title states, have you controlling the Zerg. Those of you hoping for a 2011 release may be disappointed though.
Chris Sigaty of Blizzard told IGN, “We will be very hard pressed to bring it out next year. I don’t have a date, but it’s more ambitious, it’s bigger than what Warcraft: The Frozen Throne was to Reign of Chaos and I don’t anticipate it being done in that one year time frame.”
Looks like we’ll just have to keep playing the custom maps and owning each other on Wings of Liberty for now.
Also for those who are planing to get World of Warcraft Cataclysm can digitally download it from the Battle.net store. If you do this you will be allowed to pre-load the game and play it right away when the game opens on December 7th! Check it out.
