the type of person who HAS to have the suit for Isaac Clarke in Dead Space 2 would also mean you already have it pre ordered and got it for free. Dead Space Ignition is a game that can easily be skipped unless you are a die hard fan of Dead Space.
Coming shortly before Dead Space 2 we have the prequel Dead Space Ignition. Dead Space Ignition is nothing more then a puzzle game with a loose story and some still pictures. Dead Space Ignition has a 5$ price point unless you pre ordered Dead Space 2 in which you got it free. Lets dive a little deeper into it and see if its worth the 5$ for those of us waiting for the Dead Space 2 Reviews.
Dead Space Ignition comes shortly after the events in Dead Space and apparently the people on the Sprawl have no idea about the Necromorphs yet but its only a matter of time. As stated above this is purely a puzzle game where you have to hack through a bunch of doors and consoles on the Sprawl. In between this though you get a story and not a very good one. Its your typical fix this before they get to us and now we escape type of story, with a bit of a twist at the end. You get these sequences of pictures that sometimes have a person moving or shooting but outside of that its mostly like staring at a photo. You do get to choose a couple things in the game as far as what path you want to pick but it really doesn’t change the outcome at all. One of my biggest problems with the game is that some of these puzzles take minutes to do and you’re apparently getting rushed by the Necromorphs. Conveniently though once you’ve finished they just get to you and you narrowly escape. These puzzles are also not very fun or challenging as you can typically just spam the same virus or make your own path very easily. They only have 3 puzzles in Dead Space Ignition leaving a lot to be desired for 5$. there is one incentive to play this and that is to unlock the special engineering suit for Isaac Clarke in Dead Space 2, as well as a couple other things.
Overall this is really not worth the 5$ as it is only about 30 minutes long and there’s not much of a reason to replay unless your trying to get all the trophies or achievements. Assuming your the type of person who HAS to have the suit for Isaac Clarke in Dead Space 2 would also mean you already have it pre ordered and got it for free. Dead Space Ignition is a game that can easily be skipped unless you are a die hard fan of Dead Space.
