I have been reluctant to purchase the new content. Although $10 is not an expensive investment, the question would have to be would you invest $10 in a product that is going nowhere? If you haven't bought MoH yet I say to you, don't waste your money, Black Ops is a much better investment.
On October 12th, 2010 Medal of Honor (MoH), made its way back into the gaming market. This recent installment of the hit franchise left gamers with a sour taste in their mouths. Medal of Honor should have been a rival for Activision’s Call of Duty series, but seems to have fallen short. With the next installment of the Call of Duty series released November 9th, MoH is sure to fall by the wayside to this genre giant… Lets take a look at the game to see what has made the gaming community turn its back to the latest title from EA.
When I first saw there was a new Medal of Honor being released I jumped at the chance to play it. I thoroughly enjoyed the Medal of Honor series since PlayStation 1, However when I played the beta for MoH (2010) I was sorely disappointed. The graphics in the beta were atrocious, it looked like I was playing an old copy of Delta Force: Land Warrior. I said to myself that graphics don’t make a game and put aside those feelings for the time being. Getting into the game mechanics was another disappointment. Lets just say the beta put me off of the game from the start, But there was a glimmer of hope in a message from the developers. EA released a statement of thanks to all the beta players who helped them and that most of the issues were dealt with that had been brought up. With that I decided to give the game a shot. Upon release day I installed and began to play.
I must say I was impressed with the single player mode. The game drew you in and got you into the story, and that is what I like from a video game. Although the story and the way it is portrayed is stunning, it doesn’t make up for the lack of content. On the hardest difficulty setting it only took me four hours to beat, leaving me feeling short changed and wanting a refund. So I decided to give the multiplayer a try. Again the lack of content there is amazing! With only a few game modes and a handful of maps you can only play the game for so long before you start to wander back to Modern warfare 2.
To make matters worse there are no real achievements to be had. The game has a few levels for each class to progress through and it takes a matter of hours to get to the top. EA has planned a release of a DLC update for the game with two new game play modes and four new maps. I have been reluctant to purchase the new content.
