Though E3 is over and summer has begun, there are still some solid releases coming out before the holiday season. On that note, here are 5 games we’re looking forward to in July. Oh, and we won’t make you click through five pages to look at the entire list.

Fortnite

Developed in collaboration by People Can Fly and Epic Games, Fortnite is a co-op sandbox survival game that has players surviving for 14 days against a zombie horde. To do this, players must scavenge items to build a fort in a 3×3 grid, complete with stairs, roofs, and, windows. We’re looking forward to experiencing this unique hybrid, and also experiencing the randomly generated terrain and maps.

Fortnite will come out on July 25, 2017 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Fate/Extella: The Umbral Star

After making waves on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita, the wildly popular Fate series makes its jump to the Nintendo Switch in Fate/Extella: The Umbral Star. Players take control of a “master” and work with 16 spirit “servants,” fighting large groups of enemies in the process. Set after the events of the Holy Grail War in Fate/Extra, this game details a new enemy that has a new enemy, which holds a Regalia ring that can allow them to rule over enemy servants. We’re looking forward to customizing our characters in the game, and also diving even deeper into its world.

Fate/Extella: The Umbral Star will come out for the Nintendo Switch on July 25, 2017.

Don’t Starve Mega Pack

After selling more than 10 million copies worldwide, Klei Entertainment’s Don’t Starve Mega Pack includes two full games, two expansion packs, and split screen multiplayer. Included is the wilderness survival game Don’t Starve, the standalone multiplayer expansion Don’t Starve Together, the expansion Reign of Giants that adds new characters, seasons, creatures, and biomes, and the Shipwrecked that has the main character stranded in a tropical archipelago. We’re looking forward to crafting, hunting, researching, farming, and fighting to survive.

The Don’t Starve Mega Pack will come out for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on July 25, 2017.

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age

Originally coming out on the PlayStation 2, Square-Enix’s JRPG classic Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age is set to come out for the PlayStation 4 this summer. Based off of the Japanese-only International Zodiac Job System, this game includes twelve License Boards, the ability to control guest characters and summons, and even double the game’s running speed with the touch of a button. This re-release also includes trophy support, a newly recorded and arranged soundtrack with new tracks, and improved technical performance. We’re looking forward to experiencing the definitive version of Ivalice, and making the most of its Gambit system.

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age will come out for the PlayStation 4 on July 11, 2017.

Splatoon 2

It’s time to relive the life of a squid kid with the upcoming release of Nintendo’s team-based third-person shooter Splatoon 2. Like the original, players will take control of Inklings and use colored ink to attack opponents, tag land, and clear goals. A story mode revolving around the stolen Great Zapfish and the missing Squid Sister Callie is also available. We’re looking forward to trying out the game’s online mode, and also rising the ranks.

Splatoon 2 will come out for the Nintendo Switch on July 21, 2017.

What we at Gamers Heroes are looking forward to the most:

Gamers Heroes is looking forward to Splatoon 2 the most. It’s unique multiplayer modes and captivating single player modes make it a welcome addition to the Nintendo Switch’s library.
