Cosplay Wednesday – Gundam’s RX-78

The world of Gundam makes its way from the arcade to the PlayStation 4 with the release of Mobile Suit Gundam: Extreme Vs. Maxi Boost ON. In honor of this upcoming battler, Gamers Heroes takes a look at a spot-on cosplay of one of the more iconic Gundam mechs in the series.

UbersCosplay pays tribute to the iconic Gundam RX-78 with his stunning cosplay of the timeless mech. According to him, this costume took him about a year with him working on it on and off. Materials used to craft this beauty include fiberglass, PVC, Bondo, foam board, craft foam, and other materials. To truly complete the experience, an iPod that hooks up to a speaker in the chest was included, and plays sound clips and songs from different Gundam anime series.

For those who’d like to see a video of the cosplay in action, you can find a clip taken at 2011’s Chibi-Pa Moto below. As it turns out, this costume was so good that it won “best in show” at the event.
