Diablo 3 Auction House Closes Tuesday
After two years Blizzard has finally decided to shut down the auction house in Diablo 3. When it was originally announced I remember the doubts and skeptics and it seems ultimately they were right. Get all the details below on why the auction house is closing for good!
Good Bye Diablo 3 Auction House
Back when Diablo 3 came out the real money auction house actually didn’t work for a few weeks. Once it did players started trying to make real money on the game and it was just down hill from there. First Blizzard took down the real money auction house back in March and now the whole auction house will be taken down after Tuesday’s maintenance. It was an experiment that really back fired and hurt the game’s reputation.
Numerous people found ways to exploit the game and earned tons and tons of gold which really messed up the whole games economy. There was a huge money duplicating glitch back in 2013 that literally caused Blizzard to take down the auction house for awhile. Blizzard has actually had to take down the auction house multiple times to avoid hacks and exploits.
The original Diablo games didn’t have an auction house and they didn’t suffer for it. The idea was a decent one, avoid gold spammers by letting people sell items for real money. The execution was just poor and the constant exploits really ruined it for quite a few people. What do you think? Do you think the auction house should stay in Diablo 3 or should it be taken out?
