New Gameplay Trailer for ‘The Evil Within’
A new gameplay trailer that shows off different aspects of The Evil Within was released just in time for PAX East. The Evil Within is a brand new survival horror game coming from Shinji Mikami and Tango Gameworks. Mikami is the director and producer of a few games you might know: Resident Evil, Devil May Cry, and Viewtiful Joe. The trailer is just a taste of what’s to come. The Evil Within is currently in development for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PC. It’s scheduled for release on August 26th, 2014 in the US, and August 29th throughout Europe.
In The Evil WIthin, players take the role of Sebastian Castellanos, a detective investigating a large murder. During this investigation, Sebastian and his partners encounter an unexplainable, supernatural force. All of Sebastian’s partners are killed and Sebastian is knocked unconscious. When he wakes up, there are horrifying monsters around him, and scares around every corner. The player must help Sebastian investigate the supernatural force and find the cause while facing many terrifying obstacles along the way.
The team at Tango Gameworks strives to develop The Evil Within as a true survival horror experience. This involves well designed, immersive environments, and a constant fear of walking down the next dark hall. Above all, they hope to create a story that will have you engaged and afraid the entire way. With limited resources and everything you meet trying to kill you, this game should prove to be quite the challenge. Of course, it wouldn’t be a horror game without a few jump scares either.
