Introduction
For those of you who don’t know what Quake Live is, it’s basically a port of Quake 3 Arena. It of course has some differences, the biggest one being it’s played through your browser. We’re seeing more and more of these browser-based games, where you download a plug-in for your web browser and just log on to a website and launch the games from there. Quake Live has a bunch of different game modes, with Duel, TDM and CTF the most popular ones in the competitive gaming communities.
As we know by now, there will be a Duel tournament and a TDM tournament at DreamHack, as well as a FFA tournament sponsored by 2GD, known from ESL TV.
TEAM DEATH MATCH
Personally I’m really looking forward to this tournament, as TDM tournament isn’t held that often anymore, and for DreamHack there is a lot of good teams signed up!
THE TEAMS
Obviously, alot of these teams are “special made” for DreamHack. Personally I think it’s great to see Q3 legend toxic, from the old superteam iCE cLIMBERS teaming up with stermy, l1nkje and wiz.
There’s also a few interesting teams in here that maybe lack the “professional” players, but still have great names such as nerfd, xentorium, mwc and doctor)) +1.
xenotorium, which is a fully finnish team, will be really fun to watch, as they’ve got the Q2 and Q4 superstar purri in their ranks
It will also be interesting to see how ufx, the american team of Duel experts will do.
