The only things I can even knock about the game is the length. You will figure out the ending of the story within 4 hours of the game and it come sin at a hefty 20$ price tag. The price wasn't the biggest issue though because I enjoyed every moment of the game. I only wish that I would of got more time with the game. If you are on the fence about it you might want to wait for a sale.
The Vanishing Of Ethan Carter has you playing a detective looking for a missing child named Ethan Carter. Is the case worth taking or should you move onto another one? This Ps4 honest game review will help you make your choice!
The Vanishing Of Ethan Carter PlayStation 4 Review
When you start The Vanishing Of Ethan Carter you will be tossed into the woods as a no name detective searching for Ethan. The game then tells you there will be NO hand holding and it is up to you to figure out what happened. The game is a murder mystery puzzle solver with exploration and suspense. As you explore you will have to figure out what happened to the family members of Ethan Carter while looking for him. These take the forms of puzzles with you trying to recreate the exact moments they died and seeing the outcome for yourself. It all comes full circle at the end, in a way no one will see coming.
Outside of the main story you can do side puzzles as well. Ethan is a writer and his stories are scattered throughout the world. Each story has a different puzzle for you to solve and a different world to see. You can miss these until the end of the game, you need to complete them all in order to get the complete ending. They ranged from chasing Astronauts, to sneaking around in a mine past a zombie in order to summon a Kraken. The stories are creative and the worlds are fantastic.
The game looks great and the music is spot on. The music ranges from eerie to suspenseful to set the tone of the area or puzzle. The graphics are great for a indie title and they pay attention to alot of detail. The whole atmosphere comes together to a great mystery mood for the game.
