Final Fantasy XIV has been reborn! With the release of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, MMORPG fans are flocking to Hydaelyn in droves, even crashing the server. In honor of the games’ upcoming re-release, one Final Fantasy XIV cosplay fan pays tribute to the game’s mighty AF Dragoon Armor.
Since 2005, Austrian cosplayer Verena “Evil-Siren” Eßbüchl has paid tribute to a number of different games with her costumes and art commissions. Even though she began her cosplay career with The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, she has also drawn/cosplayed people from Magna Carta, Devil May Cry, Assassin’s Creed, and, yes, Final Fantasy.
Cosplaying as her Final Fantasy XIV character Esumi Aoi, this AF Dragoon Armor took her two-and-a-half months and more than $1,300 of Wonderflex material. Despite this massive undertaking, she feels the whole experience was worth it in the end. Those curious about the whole design process can see the steps the project went through here.[ngg_images gallery_ids=”52″ display_type=”photocrati-nextgen_pro_film”]
