This is during Naoe’s introduction, when she finds two poachers after discovering a dead deer

You’re thieves
You accuse them of stealing food and they say you can’t steal from the wild. You tell them to leave and a fight starts.

You could have asked for help
Naoe explains Igans are good people, they could have asked for help. The Poachers attack. They flee before Naoe can finish them off.

This is when Naoe is eating with her auntie

You are strong
Naoe tells her auntie she is strong, and says her spirit is young. Matsu explains that her body and spirit are old, she will soon go to the mountain and not return.

You need rest
You say it is dangerous, but that won’t stop Nagato. Naoe agrees to stay put as Nagato goes off.

I’m scared for you
You say it is dangerous, but that won’t stop Nagato. Naoe agrees to stay put as Nagato goes off.

I’ll go with you
Naoe tells her father she will accompany him, he tells her to remain and protect Matsu. Naoe agrees to stay.

I won’t run
Naoe says she can’t go anywhere like this anyway, so she will stay. The monk says if you jump around too much you will bust your leg.

You can’t keep me here
Naoe tells the monk she didn’t ask to be brought there and refused to be a prisoner. Sorin explains she is not a prisoner, he is caring for her.

It’s all right, you can speak
Naoe tells Junjiro to go ahead, she won’t bite. Junjiro says she should eat me, she will need her strength soon.

Spit it out
Naoe tells him to say it, and Junjiro says you should eat more and not waste it. Sorin then turns up to free you from your splint.

[Say Nothing]

Junjiro has nothing to fear from me
Naoe says Junjiro should not be afraid as Sorin explains Junjiro was with her day and night, helping to break her fever and caring for her. Sorin asks you to be kind to him.

As long as he’s not an enemy
Naoe says he is fine as long as he doesn’t pose a threat. Sorin says it must be exhausting seeing enemies everywhere and says once you are better you can help out around the temple.

This is the first major story choice for Naoe, if you decide to hunt down The Wounded (Wada Koretake) first.

Justice Must Be Served
You agree with Mitsumune and think that the prisoner should be killed. He then kills the warrior and says he hopes you are ready for what comes next.

Killing Them Isn’t Justice
She tells Mitsumune that the fight is over, killing the men accomplishes nothing. Yaya agrees with Naoe’s advice, but Mitsumune kills the soldier anyway and Yaya blames Kyonyo.

You will be able to recruit Yaya is an ally following this quest.

This is during Yaya’s first quest after you clear the castle. You are deciding the fate of a monk.

We forgive him
Naoe remembers Yaya spoke of forgiveness. Yaya agrees and wants to show empathy. They forgive the monk.

We punish him
He can’t be trusted after breaking his vows, but Yaya lets him go anyway.

This is part of the Stray Dogs quest, when Yaya catches the thief at the end

You need to forgive each other
Naoe reminds Yaya that forgiveness is the only balanced path, both hurt each other, it’s time for forgiveness. Yaya is surprised at how quickly her anger took ahold of her. Yaya apologizes and Tetsuo forgives her.

You need to take responsibility
Naoe says that both of them played a part in this, so they have to forgive each other. Yaya forgives him and joins you

This is during Gennojo’s quest, before he joins as an ally.

[Stop Gennojo]
Naoe tells Gennojo he’s making a mistake. Naoe throws a kunai to force Gennojo to drop the bomb and then knocks him out. Gennojo is angry. He will still join you as an ally.

[Soothe Gennojo]
Naoe explains she is the reasons her parents are gone too. The two share a joke and then Naoe can recruit Gennojo

[Do nothing]Gennojo says this is the best thing. It will ruin the samurai and the poor will rise up. Gennojo dies.

This is during the Brothers in Arms quest where you decide the fate of the Commander.

[Kill The Commander]
You actually get to kill this one, so this choice does kill him. Koshiro wants to say something but then concedes that you are prepared to do what you have to do. He agrees to help.

[Spare The Commander]
Naoe spares the commanders life, he then tells Koshiro that they will not meet again. Koshiro bonds farewell to an old friend and thanks Naoe for helping him keep his promise. He agrees to help Naoe at the castle siege.

After you defeat Ukita Naoie in the story, you determine his fate

[Kill Ukita Naoie]
Naoe Stabs Ukita, leaving the scroll behind. His son will be safe now.

[Spare Ukita Naoie]
If you choose to spare him, Naoe tells him to abandon his service and focus on being a father. Naoie says, as long as he lives, he is a danger to his son. He gives you a message to give his son. You kill him anyway.

Making this choice, allows you to tell his son the truth and share his stanza.

This is during the quest Ambush Interrupted. When Yasuke meets Ibuku

I was following orders
Yasuke says he did as he was commanded because he was a sworn samurai. Ibuki doesn’t seem impressed and says you being here is almost useless.

I have changed
Yasuke explains that Iga is no longer his enemy, things and people change. Ibuki says this is true, all is changing.

When Naoe confronts Hanzo during her main story mission The Meaning Of The Blade

[Forgive Hanzo]
Naoe forgives Hanzo and he says he will come when called

[Attack Hanzo]
Naoe says enough, and demands justice. Hanzo says perhaps he deserves death, but not by her hand. You then get another choice

This choice occurs if you choose to Attack Hanzo in the previous choice

[Forgive Hanzo]
Naoe forgives Hanzo and he says he will come when called

[Kill Hanzo]
Naoe attacks Hanzo and defeats him. She refuses to finish him off, saying both have been trapped by vengeance.

This is the first romance choice option between Naoe and Gennojo

You might be right
Naoe says she can’t deny a certain something and Gennojo says he’s returning to his village to sell some items, and asks Naoe to meet him.

You are misguided (choose this for romance)
Noae says that Gennojo is overestimating himself. Gennojo laughs and says to meet him at the village later for some fun.

When you meet Gennojo at his village, there are additional romance options

You’re putting everyone in danger
Naoe says Gennojo is putting the village in danger, but Gennojo disagrees. If they have guns, they can protect themselves.

I’m not interested

Depends what you’re offering (choose this for romance)
Naoe says it depends on the quality of the blade and Gennojo said it’s only the finest steel.

After the battle during his quest, another option appears

You stink
Naoe says that he smells like death and piss and tells Gennojo to take a bath. He then tells you to meet him in another spot for a mission.

Show me, thief (choose this for romance)
Naoe says she’ll think about it, once he has had a bath and is sobered up.

After you complete Gennojo’s next quest, when you steal the scroll, there is another choice

This is serious
Naoe says she isn’t in the mood for jokes and wants to know why the map is important. The map shows where all the rich in the area is and Gennojo wants to get it back.

I’m keeping it, then (choose this for romance)
Naoe says she’s keeping the scroll and says she knows where to hang it. Gennojo tells her what the scroll is.

You will then do another quest with Gennojo, and you will have to rescue him from two samurai

I’m here for the people
Naoe says she wants to help the villagers and Gennojo says to leave him behind. Noae tells him to shut up and they two of you get to work.

I’m here for you (choose this for romance)
Naoe explains she came for him. Saying she has a soft spot for him.

You are then given another choice

You should embrace your past
Naoe says you need to embrace the pain and not run from it. Gennojo wanted to embrace something else and Noae gives him a smirk.

I’d like to embrace you (choose this for romance)
Naoe tells Gennojo to kiss her and the two share a romantic scene. This is the culmination of their romance arc.

This is after you complete the side quest The Betrayers.

I am the grateful one
Yasuke thanks him for helping to conquer his helplessness. Hori is grateful to have found a friend.

Meeting you was my reward

This is during the flashback scene for Yasuke where he trains with his sensei, when you return to Iga to do some quests.

I am content being alone
Yasuka says that he has learned to live this way over the years, and Oichi pries further.

Some company might be nice (choose this for romance)
Lady Oichi says that a strong warrior never lacks in admirers.

I try not to think about it

You need to wait some time to progress the romance option with Lady Oichi. Follow the main story until you hunt down the The Mourner of the Shinbakufu. During that quest, Yasuke will accompany Lady Oichi on a journey to a shrine on a lake.

You then get the next choice

I would celebrate what time remained (choose this for romance)
Yasuke says he would enjoy his last night on earth. Oichi says that it is sad, but it would be a good end.

I would prepare for the battle

Yasuke says I would spend it with you, Lady Oichi proclaims yes, yes, but then recants, saying it can never be.

You will then need to continue the main story until you complete The Mourner quest line. Yasuke will then find a letter back at the hideout. Find Lady Oichi

Yasuke says he was hoping they could spend more time together in the isle.

Yasuke says he will give him a good home. As long as you have chosen the heart option in the other dialogue scenes, you can keep the dog and still romance Lady Oichi.

Yasuke says the girls can keep him, and they all thank Yasuke.

After you keep the dog, a small cut-scene happens.

This is the end of the romance arc. Yasuke and Lady Oichi enjoy some time together.

This is the culmination of the romance arc. Naoe and Katsuhime share a romantic moment.

Yasuke says he is scared, the restless spirits fill him with uncertainty. Tsutsui Junkei agrees, and says he doesn’t like spirits.

Yasuke says he is a newcomer and wishes to learn of the land. Junkei gets mad at the spirits, and Naoe suggests that she deal with it.

When meeting with Lady Oichi during the quest to hunt down The Mourner of the Shinbakufu

The Shinbakufu are our enemies
Yasuke says they oppress these lands and that they fight against them. Lady Oichi says they are here too, threatening peasants and the local order.

The Shinbakufu are powerful
Yasuke says that they have a big army and they support the shogun. Oichi agrees and says they are very dangerous.

This is the finale of Yasuke’s student quest

You’re a murderer

You’re delusional
Helmets. Swords. All this bloodshed over pieces of metal, Yasuke calls him mad.

When Yasuke is dealing with the man and the woman during the quest Ambush Interrupted.

Yasuke says the man can go find forgiveness alone. Ibuki says it reeks of disrespect, but he agrees it will work if the man never comes back.

Yasuke says, if you kill this man, then your justice is the same as Nakatomi. Ibuki agrees and is impressed with Yasuke’s decision.

This is when you meet Ise Sadatame to chase down one of the members of the Onryu.

Yasuka says he was a vassal of Nobunaga, and Ise says he understands. He then gives you the details of his mission.

Naoe explains that Mitsuhide murdered her father and Ise Sadatame understands.

This is when Yasuke and Naoe are watching the Sumo Wrestling match.

The real threat is in the mind
Yasuke says the real threat is in the mind, outsmarting opponents in battle. The stranger agrees.

The real threat is the strength
Naoe says that you need strength and power, but the Stranger says that you know that isn’t true. It takes more than strength to win.

This is during the Broken Horn quest, when you are on the final stages of killing the Ox member of the Shinbakufu

The Tsuno wishes to fight
Yasuke says we cannot know what Tsuno saw, but true warriors choose their own path.

He will never get justice
Yasuke says it’s not justice, it cannot build, it can only tear down.

It’s about more than the Tsuno
Naoe says it’s justice for those taken by force

Justice is not our goal
Naoe says justice is not her concern, it’s not her fight. She says she fights for what is right, for the freedom to seek justice on their own terms. Nakamura Tadashige explains that he no longer understands what he is fighting for.

This conversation appears to have no effect outside of the initial dialogue. It doesn’t appear you can avoid killing Tsuno.

Yasuke says that it does cast some doubt onto her innocence.

Naoe says that is not enough proof and the thug calls the woman rotten

This is the follow up from the Sweet Lies quest, after you find all the rotting food and evidence

Oni-yuri is suspicious
Yasuke says there is something still missing. The thug goes at her, and it is revealed some of these men killed her father. That is the reason she is poisoning. Call her out in the next choice and she’ll leave and you’ll compelte this part of the quest.

There is still no evidence
Naoe says Oni-yuri is not to blame, blaming the rotting food in the kitchen. Yasuke and the other men are not convinced, you then need to track down Oni-yuri.

It turns out Oni-yuri is actually poisoning the men, so you may want to try the other option

Yasuke says she has lied from the start, and then she says it doesn’t matter.

Naoe says she knows what Oni feels, her anger is real and she only sees blood.

Yasuke says that no good can come from trusting a liar. The next choice will remove her from the Ally pool if you say you can’t trust her. If you want her as an ally be sure to recruit her after.

Naoe invites Oni-yuri to join, and she becomes an ally.

This is when Naoe returns to Tomiko to tell her of the masked samurai.

I heard everything
Naoe tells them to be thankful she was the only one to hear, if they don’t hand over the letters, she will tell the authorities. You can then either pay them or attack them. If you attack, they flee.

This choice is presented after you return the statue of Shinran. This choice has a minor impact on what Mitsumune says during a major choice during the assault on the castle.

Naoe says the waterfall will run red with the blood of her enemies. Mitsumune tells her to return the statue as he is no longer a worthy protector but when the time comes, Mitsumune will join the battle.

Naoe says with their approval, she can bring in bigger contracts and bigger profits. Sokun then says he will talk to his father about it.

Naoe explains Lord Nobunaga is being cautious and explains the risk, Imai Sokun agrees to speak to his father to give Naoe an audience.

When you are choosing a Komode to meet with the Tea Master

Naoe follows the merchant’s advice and gets the red outfit for the party. People at the party don’t seem to like this color.

I choose the black Portuguese silk
Naoe explains black looks better on her and the merchant makes her a Komode. She says its her finest work.

Later, when you attend a tea party. Two guests will comment on your dress. One likes the Red Chinese style, while the other likes the Black Portuguese style.

This is during the Tea Mastery quest where you are learning the ways of the tea.

Rikyu explains that some will find this gesture insulting, and Naoe should bow halfway

Later, during the actual Tea Ceremony, make sure to bow halfway.

Later, when you give this gift to Master Sokyu, he explains that is is Yixing pot that is very hard to come by, and considers it a thoughtful gift. I would select this choice, as it’s more likely 2/3 are bad than good, and this doesn’t involve Lord Nobunaga.

[Tea-Leaf Jar]If you choose this gift, later, Master Sokyu is surprised you managed to find an item from Lord Nobunaga’s private collection, but seems happy with the gift.

[Bamboo Ladle]
When giving this gift to Master Sokyu, at the Tea Ceremony, he seems slightly upset that it’s Lord Nobunaga’s collection.

The tea ceremony is a spiritual experience
Naoe explains it’s a way of honoring the virtues. Imai Sokyu respects and honors the experience.

It’s a place to make contacts
Naoe explains it’s a good way to meet people, Sokyu explains it’s more an opportunity to share culture.

This is one of the choices presented when you are talking with the guests at the tea party. She will comment on your dress, she does not like the black dress.

I had a good teacher
Naoe explains she trained under Sen No Rikyu. Otama, the woman, is suspicious of Naoe’s place and calls her out.

I know the son well
Naoe explains she knows Master Sokyu well, but Otama questions why he’s never spoken of her. The woman is still suspicious.

Naoe explains she was invited by Master Sokyu so she can learn from cultured people. The rest of the conversation is identical.

Naoe tells the woman they are partners in business. The woman laughs and explains she’s here on her husbands behalf, but would rather be hunting bandits.

This is the final guest at the tea party. She will comment on Naoe’s dress, she seems to like the black Portuguese style.

Naoe says everyone has heard of her and learns more of her history.

Naoe explains that she’s new to Sakai, saying she just arrived. Wakasa says Noae has good instincts, and she should trust them. Select this choice.

I didn’t say where I was from
Naoe says she never told her and wants to call Sakai home. Wakasa says it was a good answer, and invites Naoe to visit Osaka Castle. Select this choice.

I’m from Nagasaki
Naoe tells her she is from Nagasaki, Wakasa responds in Portuguese. She’s suspicious of Naoe’s inability to speak Portuguese, and invites her to the castle.

If you conceal your identity from Wakasa, you will be able to assassinate her in her home, instead of having to chase her down to the castle.

During the Tea Ceremony, you’re asked how you want to turn the bowl

[Turn Bowl Left Twice]
If you turn the bowl left twice, the front of the bowl will be facing the wrong direction, Master Sokyu gives Naoe a look of disapproval.

[Turn Bowl Right Twice]
This is the correct etiquette to display. Master Sokyu seems happy you performed the ceremony correctly.

[Do Not Turn Bowl]
Not turning the bowl is not following customs. Master Sokyu looks disappointed with Naoe’s ignorance.

This is a choice at the end of the tea party

Confront Otama
You chase down Otama and assassinate her. She’s not innocent, but she is not responsible for the attack. She is the wrong target.

Confront Wakasa
Wakasa is the person you are searching for. This continues the story without having to kill Otama.

This choice happens if you manage to convince Wakasa you are not a threat and she takes you to her home.

Give me the box
Wakasa explains the box isn’t there, and offers to take Naoe to it. She shoots Wakasa in the head, and she dies.

Naoe says that Wakasa will feel the pain of taking her father. Wakasa tries to negotiate her way out, but the only thing Naoe wants is her father back.
