Star Wars: Battlefront

Star Wars Battlefront
Star Wars Battlefront, the third game in the Star Wars: Battlefront sub-series, is also a reboot of the series. Set in the Original Trilogy of the Star Wars franchise, Star Wars Battlefront has players re-enacting iconic battles across planets such as Endor, Hoth, Sullust and Tatooine. The game can be played in either first-person or third-person perspectives, with players being able to change the view at any time during gameplay.

Players take on the role of a Rebel Alliance soldier or an Imperial Stormtrooper as they participate in battles across 15 multiplayer maps, featuring up to 40 players in a single map. Players can choose their characters’ gender, weapons, gear and abilities. Players can also control notable heroes from the Star Wars universe, including such iconic figures as Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa, Boba Fett, Han Solo and Emperor Palpatine. Other important characters from the franchise, like R2-D2 and C-3P0 make appearances as well. Players can also choose to compete against bots, either in singleplayer or multiplayer modes. Apart from foot traversal, players can use vehicles from the Star Wars franchise, such as AT-ATs and speeder-bikes. Another critical element of the game is the dogfights the players can engage in while in the air, controlling either a Rebel X-Wing or an Imperial TIE fighter. Over the course of the game, players earn “Star cards”, which can be used to utilize additional gear, such as thermal detonators, or new weapons.

Built using the Frostbite 3 engine, the game is notable for using original sound effects from the Star Wars franchise, as well as actual props from the Original Trilogy, replicated exactly in their digital avatars. The game also features considerable downloadable content, such as The Battle of Jakku, which is set 29 years before the events of Star Wars: The Force Awakens and follows the events of a massive battle that took place over the desert planet. The game’s Deluxe edition also features the DL-44 Blaster, made famous by Han Solo, as well as instant access to the ion grenade and ion torpedo weapons, and two new emotes: ion shock and victory.
