How To Complete Tallneck The Shining Wastes In Horizon Forbidden West

Tallnecks unlock data and intel for maps in the region. This guide on How To Complete Tallneck The Shining Wastes In Horizon Forbidden West will tell you how you can complete the Shining Wastes Tallneck as initially, when you first arrive, Aloy will explain she is unable to climb the Tallneck at the moment.

Many of Forbidden West’s activities are locked until you reach a certain part of the story or unlock a specific spear upgrade. Thankfully, the game informs you of this with a small locked icon next to specific activities that you’re yet to be able to complete. The same can be said for The Shining Wastes Tallneck. If you check your map when you first arrive, you will notice there is a small locked icon next to the Tallneck. This tells you that you’re unable to complete this objective at this time.

How To Complete Tallneck The Shining Wastes In Horizon Forbidden West

To reach the top of The Shining Wastes Tallneck, you need to follow the main story until you have completed the GEMINI Cauldron. It’s part of the main quest line, so you can’t miss it or skip it. Keep following the story until Aloy gains access to the Cauldron. Override the facility at the end and you will unlock the Sunwing Override code for Aloy’s spear. Sunwing’s are easy to find, there is a spawn point directly outside Aloy’s main base.

Simply approach and override a Sunwing and you gain access to a flying mount. You can then use it to fly to The Shining Wastes Tallneck and access the head so you can override it and claim the map data for the area.
